520d passenger vibration in 2016 BMW F10

I'm on the hunt for a vibration or buzzing sound that appears to be emanating from the vicinity of the glovebox or passenger dashboard.

Noticeable signs:

Achieved at speeds of 1,500 to 2,000 revolutions per minute.
Can be accomplished by keeping the engine running at that RPM range while at a standstill.
This happens even when the vehicle is not carrying a load.
Instead of a knock, it sounds like a resonance of plastic or metal.

Does turning off the blower fan stop it from doing it?

The car is so noisy that driving it is a misery. There appears to be no visible vibration in the cabin.

Could you enlist the aid of a bystander to maintain engine revs as you investigate its source? Instead of being in the cabin, I hear a buzzing sound on the bulkhead, as if something is under the hood.

For some reason, the cabin is the only place where this strange noise can be heard. I will try again to see if anything comes up.

Due to background noise from the engine and other sources, a buzzing sound on the engine side of the bulkhead might not be audible from under the hood.
