Using 2026's Lane Keep Assist

So that it doesn't force me to re-enter the lane whenever I'm trying to pass a child riding a bike or a parked vehicle, I can turn this feature off on my 2024.

How does one disable it on this 2026?

"Use your turn signal" is an inappropriate statement. When I use the signal, it turns it off while I'm on the go.

I disabled mine through the Mazda app:

Disconnecting the LAS
You can disable the LAS by utilising the Mazda Connect system.
To configure, go to the Mazda Connect home screen and tap "Settings."

Yeah, lane keep assist really worries me when these kinds of things happen. When you can't use the turn signal quickly enough to avoid an obstacle, the last thing you need is for the car to attempt to ram you back into it, which could lead to a disastrous accident. The car's sensors should be able to detect objects like bikes on the road and automatically swerve to avoid them.

I was in the second lane from the right as I was travelling on I285. When I pass a driver, I'll be doing around 65 mph, while they're probably only doing 55 mph. Without signalling, he dashes into my lane as I begin to close the gap. I swerve to the left and slam on the brakes all at once because I'm going to smash into him. I quickly gather my composure and look in the side mirror; a car is in the lane slightly behind me, but I quickly return to my previous strategy of dodging it. My vehicle briefly veered out of my lane, but I managed to brake just in time to avoid colliding with it. The near miss has me practically trembling. I would have been flipped over after the car on my left-hand side collided with my left side, close to the rear wheel. While I'd like to believe that my reflexes saved me from a collision, I really believe that the lane assist system was to blame.

I switched off my 2025 MHEV PP's LKA, even though I'm aware of its purported benefits. Thanks to the most recent software upgrades and my decision to disable it, my CX-90 is now a joy to drive. I felt like I was fighting the car and there was too much autocorrect when LKA was active.

That is exactly right. On my 2025 MHEV, I also disabled it. The way it forces you back into the lane is what really scared me. Thank you, I will make sure to stay in my lane.

The idea that you should disable a safety feature because it poses a threat is absurd.

I finally got rid of my 2024 after that. The dealer was trying to tell me to use my indicator, as you mentioned earlier.

I'm curious as to whether ELK and LKA have been enhanced or if they continue to override driver input.

Uncheck the box next to "lane keeping assist" in the safety menu.

On most occasions, I am not bothered by the CX-90's lane-keeping function. The lane keep assist on other brands really twists the wheels, but the CX-90's is more of a subtle prod.

But in the winter, I despise the feature. The abrupt change in steering sensation when the front wheels lose traction on an icy road is too similar to the unexpected nudge from lane keep assist. The Subaru, which is our second vehicle, has lane departure warning that sounds an alarm but no tactile assist. I don't get the slightest fright in the winter from that one.
