Greetings everyone, I have a 2018 Zoe with only 17,000 miles on the odometer, and I noticed that the driver's footwell was damp shortly after I got the car. I removed the wipers and scuttle covers, which had been removed previously, and the rubber diverter tubes with end flaps. After I dried it out, it became drenched again, and now it's soaking wet. What gives? I had the air conditioning vacced and regassed, so now the heater works perfectly, but is it possible that the air con drain is clogged? although the sound of water slapping about does not reach my ears. Renault models are known to leak water; you'd think they would have figured this out by now, right? 🙄

This happened to me once in a BMW; the culprit was a transparent plastic membrane that had been previously attached to the door frame using an adhesive that had separated at the base. Once installed and adjusted, this component, which was located adjacent to the door card, directed any water that might have seeped in through the side window's base to drain holes outside the main rubber door seal.

During the time you had it all removed, did you verify that the drains were unobstructed? Water in the cabin is a consequence of the zoe's incompetence in unclogging those

I'm slowly making my way through it, but I'm confused as to why it's only the driver's footwell that got wet. The scuttle rubber diverter pieces were already removed, so water could easily flow through and into the space behind the plastic inner wheel arch. The air conditioner also stopped working because there was no gas, so I don't know why it got wet.

I think I hear a clogged scuttle drain. The passenger footwell would fill up in my 40 when it rained heavily, and I had a similar issue. My dealer took it for a spin and helped me dry the car. I purchased a half cover to wear during the "shedding season" after realising that bits of shedding from nearby large beech trees were clogging the drains. Since then, I haven't had any more problems with the shedding, and the 50 seems to handle downpours better (though I still cover it).

Thanks, I agree that the scuttles are a "go to area." My doubts stem from the fact that I examined the scuttle drain areas on both sides. I removed the rubber diverter drain pieces and the small rubber end flap before buying the car, but the driver's foot well is still wet. I feel compelled to look at the windscreen, though. Apparently, they couldn't find it either; the Air Conditioning drain tube is obstructed beneath the center console. Another possible culprit is the driver's door seal, though it appears to be in good repair.

The floor is wet, and I'm going to inspect this area today when it's dry outside; yes, I agree again. but solely on the driver's side?
I appreciate your feedback.
