But here's some good news for a change: I've had my 2022 HEV3 since new and had it serviced at the supplying Kia dealer. It's now approaching 84,000 miles, mostly long, non-overly fast highway journeys. Other than replacing the brake pads at 70,000 miles, it's been a dream car with no mechanical issues. Sure, it's not flawless—the gearbox sometimes holds onto gears a little longer than necessary—but overall, it's been a great car, and I don't want to part with it. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

I've had the same experience with mine (-the brake pads), even though it has only covered 13,500 meters in nearly three years.

I'm 14.5k in, and so far, everything has gone smoothly (hopefully). A man who walked past us last week complimented the car's colour and said he thought it looked nice. Yes, I've read that Kia fixed this in the updated model, but I still find the gearbox to be too stingy with lower gears.

In my opinion, these gearboxes are adjustable to suit the driver's preferences.
However, following a couple of days of more leisurely local driving, it appears to have little impact.
During my second or third service, the "technician" mentioned that he had reloaded the gearbox software. I'm confused as to whether this was planned or not.

After 22k miles and three years of use, my plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) has only experienced one problem: a malfunctioning exhaust O2 sensor. The dealer fixed it while I waited, and it didn't affect my ability to use the car. Aside from that, I only needed windscreen wipers and tires. Only windscreen wash has ever needed reapplication. I am really satisfied with my car.
