Has anyone else experienced their car insurance being denied due to a purported shortage of spare parts? Three firms opted not to provide a quotation.
I am having difficulty locating a company that offers car insurance.
The proprietor, aged 63 and retired, possesses a clean driving licence with no claims in over 20 years; the vehicle is stored at home, and the quote for fully comprehensive insurance with social and domestic coverage exceeds £650.

Although I have not encountered the justification you face, I also grapple with the exorbitant fees these unscrupulous underwriters require for my insurance.
During my adolescence and early twenties, I was compelled to pay exorbitant rates for extensive insurance. Individuals often remarked that my youth was the reason, suggesting that costs would diminish as I matured and acquired greater expertise. That event never transpired, and I did not obtain what I would deem a satisfactory estimate from any of the principal suspects providing their services. By the time I entered my 50s and progressed into my 60s, I possessed greater disposable income and was relatively unconcerned about the fees charged by reputable providers.
In my seventies, I realised that age is a disadvantage and that experience holds no value. Consequently, the premiums are significantly increased solely due to age, disregarding my over 20 years of No Claims Bonus. Beyond 80, the situation deteriorates further, and I am currently endeavouring to secure a reasonable quote for the upcoming year, yet I have encountered no success thus far.
I am situated at the optimal point where, as per Martin Lewis of MSE, I am most likely to secure the most advantageous quotes utilising MSE's approach.
I empathise with you, yet I am confident that you will face a comparable obstacle annually, particularly after reaching seventy years of age! Best of luck in locating a suitable quotation. Regrettably, I reside in the Home Counties, where insurance premiums appear to be inherently higher than in other regions of the nation.Concerned and uncertain.

Dissimilar automobile. Parked on the street. The city of London. Two former chauffeurs. Complete NCD.
We possess coverage through Age UK (LV) Over 50s Car Insurance | Request a Quote Today | Age UK Trading.
The insurance expenses for this year's renewal, encompassing roadside assistance, legal coverage, and other services, decreased from £787 to £663. I called and enquired if this was their most competitive price, and they quoted £610.
I have no notion of what their opinion on an EV6 would be.

I reside in the North East. A vehicle is stationed on our driveway. Two motorists, each in their seventies and possessing complete No Claims Discount.
For numerous years, we were insured with LV, but a few years back, they abruptly increased the premiums, prompting me to begin an annual comparison. This year, I found RAC at £313 for comprehensive coverage, which was the most favourable option available while still providing adequate protection.

Yesterday, I observed that several insurers with more competitive quotes had raised their prices, prompting me to make a decision and select one, fearing I might miss the opportunity, aware that another chance would not arise for a year.
I successfully confined my expenses to just below £600; however, despite being labelled as comprehensive, it does not entirely meet my expectations. I opted out of breakdown coverage, thus I must depend on the breakdown and recovery service offered by Hyundai, provided I have my vehicle maintained by an authorised dealer.
To ensure I did not overlook a favourable offer while negotiating with SAGA, my existing provider, I called to enquire about the absence of a renewal quote from them. I received a feeble apology, indicating that it would likely arrive within a week to ten days, contingent upon local mail delivery times. Upon enquiring about the price at that moment, the esteemed lady transitioned to the appropriate screen and conveyed that the renewal fee would be £900, assuming no alterations had occurred since the previous year. She graciously proposed to examine whether she could reduce the quote slightly. I replied that I would gladly offer her the chance if she could secure a sum below £600. She subsequently clarified her remark by indicating that she could potentially secure it for just below £900. I stated, "I believe we have concluded our discussion, so kindly provide me with confirmation of my over 20 years of NCD.
I obtained the requisite evidence approximately five minutes later and subsequently revisited the MSE system before opting for a Prima policy that seemed to provide the most advantageous offer of around £600. The superior policies commenced around £800 and surged significantly thereafter.
Although I prefer to drive my own vehicle, I believe I am reaching a stage where utilising taxis and/or public transportation for the majority of my requirements, along with occasional car rentals, would suffice. Considering the actual expenses associated with car ownership, such as depreciation, fuel, and maintenance, I believe the financial implications would lead me to that conclusion.
Best wishes to those facing insurance renewals as the Christmas season approaches.
