Just got a Laguna MK2 2.0GT 205 as a project car, and the electric handbrake isn't working. The light switch isn't turning on, and there are no warning lights or anything like that. Any ideas where I should start looking for a solution?

I just had it scan, and now it's not talking to the module.

got it done three times. The module or unit with cables under the car has two scenic EPB motors and cables; each of these has its own dedicated fuse and relay on a scenic mk.2. It's located beneath the passenger compartment. - I don't have any knowledge about Laguna. - The Kurst epb unit is essentially identical in all three locations (espace, Laguna, and Scenic). The only difference is the case, which can have either two or one cable out (the other being fixed internally).

Some years ago, I encountered a comparable issue and, in the end, determined that corrosion had set in beneath the rubber seal at the point where the wires connect to the brake unit. There is very little spare wire, making it even more difficult to fix and a real pain to locate. I was unsuccessful in my search for a loom section where I could replace the wires. Beginning near the petrol pump and continuing beneath the right rear seat, the wires appear to pass through heat shields en route to the box housing the handbrake actuator. After removing a small length of wire from the loom while under the car, I proceeded to solder it. I hope this is useful.
