Hello everyone! I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude for this amazing community and forum. The majority of them have already migrated to Facebook, which isn't ideal for forum posts.
Particularly during the process of replacing my thermostat and radiator, I found your existing topics to be incredibly helpful.

I am still relatively new to Minis, but I absolutely adore this one that I got for my other half. These cars are so much fun. Upkeep has been relatively painless thus far. I should probably take care of the timing chain, but that can wait.

As far as I'm aware, FAI makes the best timing chain kits for these.

Additionally, I only use the complete kit with new vvt hubs because worn sprockets on new chains wear faster. It's worth it to do it all. If your vehicle is over 10 years old and has 60,000 miles, it's best to give it a refresh. Remove the plastic oil rings from the pistons and stop using oil altogether.
