Does a Temperature of Less Than 90 °C Mean Nothing to the 1.6 T-GDi Engine?

Greetings to all,

My initial post following my introduction should have been about something else, but I'm concerned there might be an issue with my car.

What gives with the 1.6 T-GDi engine? Is it typical for the temperature gauge to remain in the 80s to 90s, never quite getting to 90 degrees, even after hours of driving?

I look forward to hearing from you!

Even though I haven't checked mine in a while, I seem to recall that being the typical operating temperature when I did so before.

In my opinion, that is an ideal operating temperature; however, I am open to other people confirming this. Since the fuel burn inside the cylinders is so brief, it does not reflect that temperature. Cylinder temperatures can reach several hundred degrees Celsius during a PPF regeneration, although the water temperature gauge will not display this.

I don't think there's any reason for you to be worried, but that's just my opinion.

With the exception of my present vehicle, that is standard on all of the Sportages I've owned. I rarely look at the temperature readout because it requires you to page through the drivers display.

With the thermostat likely fully open at 82 degrees Celsius, a running temperature slightly below 90 degrees Celsius seems reasonable.
