Clearly, there is a limited 'long-term' ownership demographic for the EV2.
I intended to replace my Soul FE and utilised an EV3 for a week - I found it quite appealing but encountered a few (very trivial) issues:
a) Under intense sunlight, a reflective line spanned the entire windscreen at my line of sight while driving, which was quite bothersome.
b) As a motorist, it appeared 'spacious' both internally and externally, despite its dimensions being only marginally larger than the Soul in raw centimetres; however, the additional 5cm width of the EV3 deterred me from attempting to park it in my garage.
c) The ocular monitor on the steering wheel seemed invasive - two piercing eyes gazing at me
While contemplating this, I encountered the EV2 FE during one of the experiential activities and seized the opportunity.
b) From the driver's perspective, the interior dimensions felt comparably 'spacious' to the EV3, yet its exterior appears more compact and robust despite being merely shorter.
The eye monitor is positioned beneath the rearview mirror, resulting in significantly reduced intrusiveness.
I have possessed the EV2 since May and remain thoroughly pleased; I suspect there could be a marginally more buoyant ride compared to the EV3, although this may simply be due to encountering a broader variety of road conditions.
I contend that the primary functional distinction lies in the center console (which I personally find superior in the EV2) and the cargo capacity - the reduced vehicle length diminishes the trunk space, with a significant portion of the area (when the rear seats are upright) situated beneath the floor - although it has sufficed for my needs, it may pose a challenge for others.
I have not observed the diminished BHP/Acceleration in comparison to the Soul, which was indeed swifter than the EV3 - however, at a comparable age to yours, I do possess a notably gentle driving style. The insurance premiums for the EV2 were significantly less than those for my Soul FE and, upon review, also lower than the EV3.
I have mentioned in other discussions that the urban economy is considerably improved on WLTP (likely due to the warm summer) and it appears to remain stable at motorway velocities - presumably akin to the EV3. I was astonished by the impact of LFP technology, indicating that it is advisable to charge to full capacity. In practical terms, this signifies that I achieve nearly the same actual distance per charge as I did when charging the Soul to 80%. I have determined that the EV2 GOM consistently overestimates by approximately 20% at full charge; for instance, it indicates a range of 260-270 miles at 100%, whereas the true range is around 220 miles. After travelling 2,500 miles, my ratio of actual miles to GOM consistently measures 0.82.
I believe the sole concern I have encountered in three months is the door lock! In principle, one should engage the handle at the indentation to secure the doors; however, I frequently find it necessary to 'stroke' it a second time in practice - I do not recall this behaviour during the week of EV3, although it should be identical. I find myself impeded when, for instance, backing into a shrub - it will not approach within approximately 6 inches, necessitating manual intervention.
Individuals have expressed dissatisfaction regarding the bongs, akin to the EV3; I did not possess the EV3 long enough to discover the volume adjustment—after reducing it on the EV2, they are no longer bothersome to me. Some individuals have proposed that the ADAS is excessively sensitive - I disagree. It may pertain to particular vehicles; however, when it activates for me, I have been able to discern the underlying concern, which has consistently been associated with closing velocities. If you apply the brakes or regenerate later, you will encounter additional triggers.
