One individual claimed that the vehicle had evidently been involved in a prior collision (which is untrue, as I am acquainted with the owner who has possessed it since its inception); another suggested submitting it for re-webbing; yet another remarked that they had never encountered such an issue before!

I consulted the TJ service manual (when in doubt, refer to the FSM) and discovered the information I required.

I suppose I will need to have both re-webbed eventually, as the passenger seat is identical and has seldom accommodated a passenger, given that it was designed for a single occupant, if you catch my drift.
