Greetings, all. About 15,500 miles have been clocked on my 2025 CX 70 preferred. Despite my satisfaction and the vehicle's dependability, I do have a persistent issue. From the start, as expected, the engine turns off just before stopping if I keep IStop engaged when I'm getting close to a stop. However, as soon as I stop entirely, the engine restarts, runs for a short while, and then turns off again. Has anybody else encountered this kind of system behaviour?

Yes, indeed. I disable it on startup for that reason and others. Once you're out on the highway, it's fine, but when you're stuck in traffic, it's a real pain. Also, the reactivation process when stopped is far too abrupt and crude.

I tested it out for a full tank of gas to see if it would significantly improve my gas mileage, but it didn't, so I'm not really a fan. Indeed, it becomes almost invisible at higher speeds during cruising when the engine can be turned off.

Instead of having to remember to press the button every time the computer starts up, it would be more convenient if I could permanently disable it in the system settings. On the other hand, I have no idea what the long-term effects of that plug-in override option are on the vehicle.

It occurs to me whenever I begin to release my foot from the brake pedal while coming to a complete stop. Keep your foot firmly planted on the gas, but gradually increase your brake pressure to reduce the force with which you decelerate. The computer anticipates that you will want to accelerate once more and starts the engine accordingly. But as soon as I stop, it turns off again.

It appears that the system is too sensitive and could use some tweaks.

I assumed it was just because my 2026 CX 70 MHEV was charging the battery, but it does that too.
