I must admit, I was amused by that; I had never heard of it before.

Although I am not sure there is any truth to what they say, I do believe them.

I agree with them. It was never an issue in the past, but these days it's pretty common.

When asked, "they're all pretty much the same, use whatever you want," many will respond in the affirmative. There are noticeable variations across brands when it comes to the chemical composition, which I investigated thoroughly.

In addition to the possibility of 'gelling' or crystallisation in the pipes or nozzle—the exact nature of which may depend on the brands and proportions used—certain vehicles have fluid-level sensors, and these sensors necessitate a fluid with a certain chemical composition in order to function.

Although I don't remember the specifics, I believe that Volvo's screenwash was the only other brand I came across that had components similar to Mercedes' fluid when I was researching this a long time ago. After some time, a friend's brand-new Volvo began to exhibit persistent issues with a low screenwash warning, regardless of the amount of screenwash in the tank. Using authentic Volvo screenwash was the final piece of the puzzle that fixed it.

Even though it's not inexpensive, I've decided to stick with just one brand (MB for the MBs) despite the fact that others may have different opinions or experiences. The result is that I still have a tonne of random screenwash in the shed that I haven't gotten around to using.

Yeah, I've heard that it's not a good idea to combine different brands of laundry detergent. You shouldn't chop and change; stick to one. It doesn't have to be the original or the most expensive.

Since I was informed to do so many years ago, I have consistently utilised MB Winterfit in our MBs.
After disassembling it multiple times, I've discovered that there is an issue with our V class screen wash; however, I've found that a long spray to the back resolves the problem. Due to the rubber filter becoming clogged, the feeder pipe approaches the reservoir's base. By reversing its direction, the single pump can serve both the front and back. I used to be able to keep the washers clear by using screen wash quite a bit. Winterfit from new... I'm not sure why this one is problematic.
With any of our previous MBs, I have never experienced any issues.

Dear OP, I would recommend giving it a long spritz on the back to see if it helps.
