Clamp for exhaust

I discovered this clip rattling underneath my BMW 3 Series Touring, and the noise disappeared after I removed it. I was wondering if anyone knew where we could get a new clip, like quickfit, and if anyone knew what kind it was.

It might be a driveshaft, steering rack gator, or something similar.
Can you tell me where on the car you found it?

The rattling sound was caused by a hanging part that was split open and hung over the exhaust. We recently had a new part installed by a BMW garage, so I was wondering if they were required to use one when they changed the part?

That clip was inappropriate, and they shouldn't have touched anything.
strange, it was behind the DPF and over the exhaust.

I was thinking the same thing—how could it have gotten there from somewhere else? To be honest, I'm not sure if it's anything to worry about.

Okay, I'm kidding, but????????? Sorting out a rattle can be a time-consuming process.

Now that I removed the split clip, the rattle is gone, but I still don't understand its purpose.
