Hi everyone, I just bought a 2011 Titanium X hatchback and I'm really enjoying it, but I can't get rid of this strange creaking sound coming from behind the vehicle. The sound, which is audible only when the vehicle encounters moderately bumpy roads or the type of surface that could cause the bodyshell to bend slightly, is almost certainly coming from inside the cabin, specifically behind the driver's seat. You can hear it, though it's not constant. I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen or knows what it could be. Thank you ahead of time!

This vehicle is fifteen years old, so keep that in mind. There may have been removal and replacement of parts during that time, and you won't know about it.
Even brand new, straight out of the factory cars might have the occasional squeak and rattle; my dad worked for Ford Motor Company for 39 years and had company cars from the early 80s until retirement (he only stopped using them a few years ago).
Nobody on this site will be able to tell you what's making that noise unless they're sitting in your car right now, which is obviously not the case. Since the source of the noise could be anything, it would be wise to have someone sit in the backseat while you drive on a bumpy road to help you pinpoint it.
Would you say the noise is coming from the trunk or the undercarriage of the vehicle?
Is opening a window going to make it louder?

It was difficult to hear the squeaking or creaking even when standing next to the vehicle. On my Fiesta, this happens when I'm driving, but as soon as I brake, it goes away.

Are you saying that you've had the Fiesta since it was new?

I still haven't figured out what's wrong with my Fiesta, which is more than a year old, because the squeaking in the steering wheel stopped when the car is stationary and when I turn the steering wheel, and it started after I changed the bottom balljoint.
