Fill up every 60,000 strokes, drain completely at 100,000 strokes (in the absence of a history), and repeat every 100,000 strokes.
Spending thirty thousand dollars is excessive. Another dumb thing is lifetime fluid. Blackened or burnt gearbox fluid has been found in vehicles with 100,000 miles on the odometer.
