Of course, I was just curious if, with everyone's knowledge of tuning, it would be possible to get the Mazda engine tuned to work. It appears unlikely given the absence of a response. There was a limitless amount of tuning available when VW/VAG released their 5-valve 1.8T engine with a strong bottom end.

There is a huge chasm between 1.8T modding and the modding of modern Mazdas. These Skyactiv engines have very little support. The Mazdaspeed3 and the ND1 Miata seem to have been the last ones to join the celebration.
