My 1.5 TDCI has a startstop, but I was wondering if there was a way to disable it.

Just by deactivating it every time you start the engine (the "A" button on the gear lever)?
Every time you start your car, you can achieve that with a kit that you connect to the start/stop button.
Is it a MOT problem? I'm not sure. To remove it for maintenance, just unplug it.

Who knows? It might be fun to give it a shot. Be cautious to create a backup of your existing data before disabling the BCM setting and/or writing the asbuilt.

Two ways:
The electronic control unit (ECU) was commanding an extremely high voltage when my focus developed a charging fault. According to some studies, disconnecting the active grill shutter causes the alternator to operate normally. Ever since then, stop-start has been ineffective.
Another option is to remove the small wire that is not connected to the main earth from the battery's negative terminal, which is used for battery management. A stop-start cannot be initiated by the ECU unless it is informed of the battery's charge level.
