Source for MG Hood front over center catch striker plates

Post by Minari Interloper » Tue Sep 24, 2019 2:48 pm

I have a Minari (1980's fibre glass car with Alfa engine and suspension) which uses the hood catches (model number Catch short satin AHA8491 and Catch striker plate AHA8483) which were used on MG Sprites, Midgets and MGB cars. On my car the striker plates are missing.

The hood catches appear to still be available but cannot find a supplier who has the striker plates.
I did read in another forum that the tooling for the striker plate had been disposed of in 2006 and I guess the components are moulded or cast rather than fabricated looking at the few pictures available on the net.

Can anyone suggest a supplier I could try or even if there is an alternative fabricated design available?
