MG 1500 MIdget Timing

Post by tx4crystal » Sat Aug 23, 2014 7:40 pm

I am puzzled about my car not starting. So, I replaced plugs, and checked timing with the flywheel at -10 TDC. When I pulled the distributor cap, I think the rotor is not even near the number 1 plug and I can't turn it enough to get close. Am I looking at this right? Is my timing chain off? I attached a photo to show it.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

How longs the mustard number...classic speed shape. Everyone talks about Cabells racy guns from the time but you look at what Midget was making back then.
