Two cars belonged to the late member of a car club. I'm showing them here to try to help his widow. Re: Run to Hardrow Force

Here's a bit of video from the run. We didn't go to Hardrow, only made it as far as Hawes for lunch.

I haven't figured out how to embed video so you'll have to make do with a link. :)

Re: Run to Hardrow Force

No worries, Adam.

This is the last for this year. The next one is the fish & chip run to Whitby in January. Runs are normally on the third Sunday of the month and I assume next year will be the same, I'll confirm it when next years runs are listed.

Re: Silly question about compression tests...

Generally speaking, if the lowest is within 10% of the highest, it's good to go.

How does the car run?

Re: Run to Hardrow Force

Adam, it's what you want it to be. I don't know the route of this trip, but we normally drive for about an hour or so, often on some interesting back roads. Once at the destination you can do what you want. Some stay a short time, some stay longer, others zoom off straight away. It always ends up so...

Re: So how many MG's do you have?

That's a great pic of my car, Adam. The only time it looked shiny was when it was wet. Part of me still regrets getting it painted.

Are you coming for a run out a week on Sunday. Meet at Yarm station 10am. You don't need to be in an MG. There will be others in everyday cars.

Re: So how many MG's do you have?

I'm a great believer in using my cars and I don't treat them gently. Having said that, compared to some I am gentle. The water wasn't really a problem. If it had soaked the electrics I'd just have had to dry them off. When I bought the GT, somebody had fitted a bonnet and tailgate from a black car, ...

Re: Problems Starting

One possibility is a dodgy ignition switch not supplying power to the coil in the start position. You can check this with a voltmeter or a 12v test light between the input to the coil and earth. Have somebody turn on the ignition. the meter should show about 12v or the light should light. Then try t...
