You need to do a vac test on the manifold - doesn't have to be the centre of the manifold.

My vac gauge is on the inlet manifold being an RB to CB conversion. I don't think you will get the correct results taking the reading from the carbs. I've read on another forum where they didn't use a vac just twisted the dist until they got the best tickover - disconnect the dist vac first and plug...

A lot of remanufactured parts leave a lot to be desired. I replaced the axle straps on mine recently and the replacement parts don't look any where near as robust as the originals.

Ballasted Ignition Coil

The PO had fitted a standard 12v coil which has worked fine but the car would originally have had a ballasted coil. When i saw a Lumenition coil on eBay which would work well with the Lumenition Magnetronic distributor (again what the PO fitted) i decided to convert back to the original type of ball...
