Re: Hello from Lincoln

Its great to hear your choice of car Jim and lovely to read about you working on it with your dad. I have fond memories of getting my poor old dad out in all weathers to help me work on cars when I was your age.

Thats bad luck about the drive shaft, did one of the universal joints fail ?

Re: MG GT as first car?

Id really recommend an MGB also. Very mechanically straightforward and accessible hence easy to work on. Also they are generally easy to get parts for and there are an awful lot of owners you can learn from and swap stories with. The MGB and MGB GT are simply (but well) built sports cars that are go...

Re: Wheels Needed for 1969 MGB GT?

Its difficult to tell without knowing more. What size are your wheel rims and are they wire wheels, plain steel wheels with chrome hub caps or rostyles ?

Re: Buying a diesel zr

If it is the same diesel engine as use in the ZT then it's pretty good and robust. not huge on power compared to more modern diesels but there is plenty that can be done with a remap to get a bit more power.

Re: Fuses

I had heard also that these can fail sometimes just through vibration and age.
My guess is that you have probably replaced the fuse by now rather than waiting for an answer ;)

Re: Rear springs MGB roadster

Ive not heard of this before. How slack would you say the new parts are compared to the originals / I take it the slackness would only be detectable when the suspension is moving vertiaclly but is there any sideays movement as this would be more likely to impact handling ?

Re: mgb bonnet scoop

Im wondering if an MGC style bonnet would fit. I believe this is what they used for the MGRV8
